Huge thanks to Big Bear Music – the organisers of the Birmingham, Solihull and Sandwell Jazz Festival for inviting me to perform at 5 venues throughout the region. Now into its 34th year, the Festival gets bigger and better every year and has developed into one of the undoubted highlights of the West Midlands cultural calender. Thank you to pianists Richard Jones, John Hodgetts and Neil Hunter for accompanying me superbly!
The 2nd phase of my project ‘Every Sunrise’ took place at Sansom Studios. A huge pleasure and honour to record my compositions with some of the regions finest musicians – Richard Jones on piano and Fender Rhodes, Mike Green on electric and upright bass and Jim Bashford on drums.
I welcomed in the new year with a gig at The Greenway Hotel, Cheltenham – a luxury 16th century Elizabethan manor house, with Graham Dent on piano, Mike Green on double bass and Spencer Hedges on drums. It was a great end to a great year! Huge thanks to the wonderful musicians whom i’ve had the pleasure of working with this year – great memories, great music! Looking forward to more of the same in 2018!

It was a joy to be part of ‘Oxjam’, the UK’s largest music festival taking place over the whole month of October. Big thanks to Richard Jones, David Williams, Simon Paterson and Spencer Hedges who gave up their time to perform with me at The Star in Beeston. A record year for Oxjam as over £18,000 was raised!
My latest music project ‘Every Sunrise’ is coming along very nicely! Thanks to an amazing rhythm section – Matt Ball, Wayne Matthews and Dave Anderson, we had a very productive and enjoyable studio session. Can’t wait to share my music!
It was great to be offered four dates at this year’s Birmingham, Solihull and Sandwell Jazz Festival, now into its 33rd year. Congratulations to all at Big Bear Music for a hugely successful event!
This month marked 30 years of Stratford Jazz. I was delighted to be invited to perform at Stratford Arts House, the home of Stratford Jazz with Neil Hunter, Tom Haines and The Birmingham Jazz Orchestra. It was a fantastic and very well attended night …. the drinks flowed, the music played and we ate a lot of cake!
